Usually no. The ball must completely cross to your side before you hit it. You may follow through across the net after a legal hit; a ball that bounces on your side and spins back over the net has a separate exception.

Hitting a ball before it crosses the net plane is a fault. The follow-through allowance applies to the current strike, and the spin-back exception applies only after the ball has crossed back to the opponent's side. Do not cross the plane early or touch the net during a live ball.
