Create or Request an OPL

Updated August 23, 2026

Before you begin

You must be signed in and must first join the parent Court or Club. Messenger does not have a New League action in the conversation-list menu.

The parent is chosen by the conversation you open. Do not open an existing OPL to create another one.

iPhone, iPad, and Android

  1. Open Courts > My Courts or Clubs > My Clubs.
  2. Open the joined Court or Club chat.
  3. Tap the Court or Club name in the chat header to open its information.
  4. Scroll to OPL’S - OPEN PLAY LEAGUES.
  5. Select Add Open Play League.
  6. On Add League, enter OPL Name.
  7. Optionally add a photo, email, phone number, website, status, Who Can Join, skill level, and description.
  8. Select Submit.

macOS and Windows

  1. Select Courts or Clubs from the side navigation.
  2. Open the joined Court or Club conversation.
  3. Select its header to display the information panel.
  4. Find OPL’S - OPEN PLAY LEAGUES and select Add Open Play League.
  5. Enter OPL Name, add any optional details, and select Submit.

Web

The direct MYOPL website and browser Messenger have different management permissions.

  1. Open the joined Court or Club and its information or management panel.
  2. If Add Open Play League is available to your account, enter the OPL information and submit it.
  3. A qualifying active Club official can use the Club website's direct league-management flow. Direct Court creation on the website is reserved for MYOPL administrators.

Expected result in Messenger

Messenger confirms that the OPL request was submitted for administrative review. It does not immediately create or publish an OPL, add a conversation to My OPL’s, or provide a pending-request page.

Submitting the request is currently available to a joined Court or Club member; it is not restricted to a venue administrator. Only submit an OPL when the venue or organizer has authorized it.

Current limitations

  • There is no review tracker, approval estimate, or guaranteed approval notification.
  • Event dates and times are not entered in Add League. They are configured as Events after an ordinary OPL exists.
  • Who Can Join options are not enforced consistently by the current membership flow.
  • Submitting the same form more than once can produce duplicate requests.

If Add Open Play League is missing

  • Confirm that you opened a joined Court or Club chat, not an OPL Browse result.
  • Open the parent name/header and scroll through its full information panel.
  • If the parent is not in My Courts or My Clubs, join it first.
