A Reliability score of 60% or higher is considered reliable. Play more games with more people, more often to increase your reliability score. A reliability score quantifies the consistency and stability of a measurement tool or test, indicating how trustworthy the results are under consistent conditions.
Focus on the key characteristics of the next level. For example, a 3.0 player should work on consistency and learning to dink to reach 3.5. Participate in as many Open Play Sessions as you can at your local clubs and courts, join OPL events and challenges for verified results.
A 3.5 player is a solid Intermediate who is consistent but may have strategic gaps. A 4.0 Advanced player has better shot selection, more controlled aggression, and excels in teamwork and court positioning.
The OPL Rating scale technically extends to 8.0, but a rating of 5.5 and above is considered a Professional level, representing the highest echelon of pickleball players.
