One match is all that is needed to get an OPL rating. To improve your rating play more matches against more opponents and against other OPL rated players. The more you play, the more accurate your rating and reliability score becomes.

All players are rated on the same numerical scale ranging from 2.000 to 8.000 based on their match results, regardless of age, gender, location, or skill level.

OPL Rating Levels

Novice
2.0- 3.0

A beginner with little or no experience, relying on rules and procedures, with limited understanding of ball position and flight.

Intermediate
3.0-4.0

Begins to recognize patterns and apply rules in specific situations, may not naturally adapt to getting into position for every return.

Advanced
4.0-5.0

Has a sense of competence and can handle routine gameplay situations efficiently, will to get into position for the majority of balls.

Expert
5.0-5.5

Can see the big picture, anticipate game play, ball positioning and makes decisions based on experience and intuition. A good reader of the ball, with good movement.

Professional
5.5+

Possesses a deep understanding of game skill, can handle complex game play situations intuitively. Rarely out of position on a shot. Great positioning of the ball, through movement and reading the game.
