Controlled administrator testing

Tennis is being prepared as a sport-specific MYOPL experience.

MYOPL is preparing tennis for controlled administrator testing; it is not yet a public member feature. The scoring contract records each completed set as games won: 6–0 through 6–4, 7–5, or 7–6 when the set uses a tie-break at six games all. Only authorized MYOPL administrators can test this sport while its complete discovery, administration, result, rating, and reporting path is being validated. Other members continue to see pickleball.

Updated

The 7–6 exception is essential

A simple “first to six, win by two” validator would incorrectly reject a standard tie-break set. Under the ITF tie-break-set method, a set reaches 6–6 and a tie-break determines a 7–6 set score. A 7–5 set remains the ordinary two-game-margin finish.

MYOPL validates the completed set score, not the individual points inside standard games or the tie-break.

Accepted complete-set shapes

60–4Winner reached six with a two-game margin

Pilot boundaries

  • Only an authorized site administrator should see the sport selector.
  • Browse must return tennis-specific Courts, Clubs, and OPLs.
  • A facility’s tennis administrator and tennis details are separate from its other sports.
  • A tennis entity supplies tennis to New Game; the player does not need to reinterpret a pickleball form.
  • Existing joined pickleball chats remain visible.
